Narcotics investigation leads to fentanyl trafficking bust in Centre

A Centre man is behind bars after authorities uncovered a significant stash of fentanyl and methamphetamine during a narcotics investigation earlier this week.

According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver, investigators and deputies executed a search warrant at a residence on Cedar Bluff Road, where they seized a large quantity of illegal drugs, including fentanyl and meth.

47-year-old Danny Joe Segers was arrested at the scene and is now facing multiple charges, including:

– Trafficking Fentanyl
– Trafficking Methamphetamine
– Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (x2)
– Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree
– Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (x2)
– Sheriff Shaver emphasized the department’s ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in Cherokee County.

“This investigation highlights our commitment to keeping our community safe from the dangers of fentanyl and other harmful substances,” said Shaver. “We will continue working to disrupt the flow of illegal narcotics and hold those responsible accountable.”

Segers remains in custody at the Cherokee County Detention Center.
