A 48-year-old Rome man is facing charges following his arrest in the woods near the Floyd County College and Career Academy.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Kevin Wayne Eddy damaged the perimeter chain link fence to gain entry to the campus and then used bolt cutters to cut the locks on multiple buildings and a mechanic shop.
He then put multiple items on trailers, wagons, and hand trucks for future removal.
The items included power tools, copper wire, GPS devices, a welder, and an air compressor.
Eddy then fled on foot from police before he was apprehended.
He is charged with 2nd-degree burglary, theft by taking, entering an automobile, criminal trespass, misdemeanor obstruction of law enforcement, and three counts of interference with government property.
