Man charged with identity theft

An arrest has been made in an identity theft case dating back to May of 2021.

According to an arrest warrant:

36-year-old Hershell Kyle Pirkle passed himself off as a Florida woman when he used her personal information to hack her account to withdraw $7,200 at a Rome bank.

Pirkle is charged with identity theft and theft by taking.

Man charged with drug, and weapons possession

A local man is facing drug and weapons charges.

According to the arrest warrants and Floyd County Jail records:

On November 14, members of the Department of Community Services made contact with 44-year-old Chris Dwight Jones at his residence on Dublin Circle in Kingston and found a bag of methamphetamine in his pocket.

A search warrant was obtained and more meth was recovered, along with a felony amount of marijuana, 74 Gabapentin pills, and a firearm.

Jones is charged with possession of meth, possession of dangerous drugs, felony possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and a probation violation.
