Advance in-person voting for the runoff election to decide who will fill the Post 4 seat on the Floyd County Commission began Monday.
Early voting for the April 15 runoff is from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. through Friday at the Floyd County Elections Center at 18 East 12th Street.
Voter turnout for the March 18 special election was only a little over 8 percent.
David Thornton was the top vote-getter with 1,989 votes.
However, it was not enough to avoid a runoff with Chip Hood, who finished second with 1,362 votes.
The winner will fill the unexpired term of Larry Maxey, who passed away in November.
