Man charged with criminal damage to property, battery, child cruelty
A 30-year-old Rome man is accused of damaging a woman’s vehicle and smartphone during an argument on Tolbert Street back on Apr. 28.
According to the arrest warrant:
Jared Bernard Jett Jr. busted the window of the 2012 Nissan Rogue, causing the victim’s face and hand to bleed.
The incident occurred in front of two children.
The warrant stated that the windows and smartphone will all have to be replaced.
Jett is charged with felony 2nd-degree criminal damage to property and misdemeanor counts of 3rd-degree cruelty to children and battery.
Man charged with meth possession
A Rome man is facing drug charges following his arrest Wednesday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
32-year-old Duke Henry McCool failed to get on the ground when ordered to do so by sheriff’s deputies.
After a brief struggle, the deputies witnessed McCool take items from his shorts and attempt to get rid of suspected methamphetamine.
McCool is charged with possession of meth and obstruction of officers.
