According to the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office, Will Henry Ford Sr. was transported from the jail to a local hospital on Saturday where he passed away with preexisting terminal medical conditions.
The 74-year-old Rome man was charged with murder following a deadly shooting in West Rome that occurred earlier this year in April.
According to Floyd County Jail records Ford allegedly shot a woman with a 12-gauge shotgun at his residence on Springdale Drive.
The victim, 60-year-old Harriet Ann Turner of Rome, died as a result of a single gunshot wound to her torso.
Ford was charged with murder, aggravated assault, aggravated battery, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
Ford was being held without bond in the jail’s medical wing.
