Motorcyclist injured in July 4 crash has died

A Floyd County man injured in a motorcycle crash in West Rome back on July 4 has died from his injuries.

According to a Rome Police Department report:

The driver of a Chevy Camaro told officers that he was attempting to turn left onto Shorter Avenue from Tamassee Lane and did not see the Victory Vegas motorcycle due to a car that was making a right-hand turn.

The Camaro and the motorcycle collided and the motorcyclist, identified as 63-year-old William Robertson sustained multiple injuries.

The driver of the Camaro was issued a citation for failure to yield.

On Tuesday of this week, police were notified that Robertson succumbed to his injuries.

Rome Police will now conduct a follow-up investigation.
