Report: Man tampered with water meter, got service without paying

A Rome man is accused of stealing around 3,000 gallons of water from the Rome Water Department.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

38-year-old Terry Lee Harris Jr. destroyed the seal attached to a water meter at his Malone Drive home, allowing him to continue to get water after it had been cut off for not paying his bill.

Harris is charged with theft by taking, interference with government property, theft of services, and damaging the property of a public utility company.

Man accused of dragging person down the road with his vehicle

A 29-year-old Rome man was arrested at his Plymouth Road home Tuesday on charges on a felony aggravated assault charge.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Samuel Cisneros Reyes used his vehicle to drag the victim down the road.

Once at the jail, Reyes was found with suspected cocaine, resulting in an additional charge of possession of drugs past the guard line.

Warrant: Convicted felony had firearm

A Rome man has been arrested on a felony warrant charging him with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

According to the warrant:

The girlfriend of 45-year-old Foncuyon Yuranas Finley Sr. told authorities that her firearm was kept in the center console of her vehicle, which Finley often drove.

The girlfriend also stated that the firearm was in the vehicle when Finley was arrested for driving with a suspended or revoked license back on August 12 on Kingston Avenue.

The firearm was subsequently stolen from the vehicle and another woman told investigators that Finley had called her, accusing her of stealing the gun.

Man charged with meth possession during traffic stop

A man initially stopped by Rome Police for running the stop sign at East Glover Street and Jervis Street was arrested Tuesday for possession of methamphetamine.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

42-year-old John Thomas Duvall Jr. of Cedartown was found with an undisclosed amount of meth.

He was also driving without insurance.
