Rome Police have released the report regarding an incident earlier this week where a vehicle plowed into the Harbor View Nursing Home located on Redmond Circle.

According to the report:

A Chrysler 300 driven by a 78-year-old Rome woman was traveling in the parking lot and was pulling into a parking space when it jumped the curb, ran over a sign, went through a large holly bush, and went through the building’s exterior wall.

A resident of the nursing home was in her bed when the vehicle collided with the building and entered her room.

She was taken to Atrium Health Floyd to be checked out.

The driver of the vehicle told police that she applied the brakes but her vehicle didn’t stop.

She was transported to Advent Health Redmond to be checked out.
