The body of a 54-year old man found on banks of the Etowah River Sunday evening is being sent to the GBI Crime Lab for an autopsy.
Kayakers made the discovery at around 7:30 p.m. near 2nd Avenue and Riverbend Drive.
It is believed the man is from Florida.
His name has not been released pending notification of next of kin and a cause of death is not known at this time.
Authorities do not suspect foul play at this time.
