Inmate accused of conspiring to smuggle contraband into prison
A Decatur man is accused of arranging to have cell phones and drugs smuggled into the Floyd County Prison in September of last year.
According to Floyd County Jail records and an arrest warrant:
37-year-old Rodriguez Demontez Knight used the prison phone system to give directions for a contraband drop that included nearly 84 grams of methamphetamine, 182 MDNA tablets, 165 grams of marijuana, and two cell phones with rechargeable batteries and a charger.
Knight is charged with conspiracy to commit a felony, criminal solicitation, trafficking methamphetamine, trafficking ecstasy, possession of items prohibited for inmates, possession of drugs with the intent to distribute, and use of a communications facility to commit a crime.
Report: Man found with suspected ecstasy at Alto Park
A 32-year-old West Rome man was arrested Wednesday on Burnett Ferry Road at the Alto Park ball fields on drug charges.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Kylan Kendrell Jones had less than an ounce of marijuana and several candy-shaped pills believed to be ecstasy.
He is charged with possession of a Schedule I controlled substance and misdemeanor marijuana possession.
Traffic stop for seatbelt violation leads to drug arrest
A traffic stop in the area of Walnut Avenue in East Rome ended with the arrest of a Lindale woman on methamphetamine possession charges Wednesday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
54-year-old Tammy Lawson Gamble had a crystal-like substance that she stated was meth.
She also admitted to not wearing her seatbelt.
