Floyd County Police arrested a Rome man Wednesday on multiple charges including kidnapping and aggravated assault after a domestic dispute at his residence on Blacks Bluff Road.
According to police, after the dispute, 40-year-old Ronnie Antonio Martin left the scene, taking with him his biological son, despite not having custodial rights.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Martin choked a 34-year-old woman, threw her to the ground, causing her to lose consciousness, and then took her cell phone.
The victim also sustained a busted hand, cuts on her legs, and bruising to her neck, face, and body during the altercation.
Martin then punched the family dog, woke up the 11-year-old child, and left the residence with the child.
The incident occurred in front of two children.
Martin is also charged with two counts each of 1st and 3rd-degree cruelty to children, and single counts of theft by taking, battery and cruelty to animals.
