Silver Creek man charged with aggravated assault

A Silver Creek man is accused of assaulting his father with a two-pound dumbbell back on June 6.

According to Floyd County Jail records and an arrest warrant:

30-year-old Ricky Lamar Smith Jr. hit the victim in the chest causing redness and swelling.

Smith is also accused of getting in a woman’s face and cursing at her in an attempt to provoke a fight.

He is charged with aggravated assault and simple assault.

Man charged with aggravated stalking

A Rome man is facing a felony count of aggravated stalking following an incident Wednesday on Berkshire Drive.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

55-year-old William Terry Bryant Jr. violated a no-contact order when he went to the victim’s residence, causing a verbal argument.

He then took the victim’s car keys and threw them in the bushes.

Magistrate court had issued an order on December 8 requiring Bryant to have no contact with the victim.
