Former prison inmate facing charge for 2023 incident

A former inmate at the Floyd County Prison has been arrested on a warrant charging him with possession of items prohibited for inmates.

According to the warrant:

28-year-old Shcharansky Tenio Antoine Cooper of Atlanta obtained an Acer Chromebook computer belonging to the Floyd County Board of Education while on a work detail at the central office on Riverside Parkway on February 3, 2023.

He then accessed the internet and attempted to conceal the computer from a corrections officer.

Woman charged with meth possession

A 24-year-old Rome woman was recently arrested at her Blacks Bluff Road home on a warrant charging her with possession of methamphetamine.

According to the warrant:

Samantha Kay Dowdy was found with one gram of meth on June 14 at a location on Donahoo Drive in Lindale.
