Floyd County elections board to hold a called meeting Monday

The Floyd County Board of Elections & Registration will hold a Special Called Meeting on Monday to certify the results of the June 18 runoff election.

The only contest in Floyd County was on the Democrat ballot for Congress in the 14th District.

Unofficially, Shawn Harris received 1,133 votes while Clarence Blalock got 293 votes.

District-wide, Harris won by a margin of 69 percent to 31 percent and will now face incumbent Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene in November.

The called Floyd County Board of Elections meeting begins at 3:45 p.m. in the Community Room of the Floyd County Administration building on East Fourth Avenue.

The caucus will begin at 3:30 p.m.
