Rome Police Department –
The Rome Police Department has announced it will place barricades and directional cones in areas along Riverside Parkway to assist with traffic direction while entering and exiting Ridge Ferry Park on July 4, 2024.
These barricades and cones will be placed beginning at 9 pm. No parking is allowed on the shoulders of Riverside Parkway and is allowed in designated lots, only.
To accommodate the smoothest transition of heavy traffic, all cars will be rerouted when the fireworks display begins, so please expect traffic delays.
Depending on where your vehicle is parked in relation to Riverside Parkway, including all private lots, traffic will be routed in a specific direction.
All traffic on the west side of Riverside Parkway will be routed toward Turner McCall Blvd., and all traffic on the east side of Riverside Parkway will be rerouted toward Ga-1 Loop.
The entire roadway will be coned and marked accordingly, and officers will assist in removing all traffic from major parking areas.
No traffic will be allowed onto Riverside Parkway from Turner McCall Blvd after the fireworks display; access from Turner McCall Blvd will reopen only after eastbound lots have cleared.
Please be patient with traffic, and please be aware of all private lot rules and regulations.
