A 58-year-old Rome man was arrested Thursday at his Park Road residence after he allegedly swung a baseball bat at another person.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Mickey Juan Ely then threw the bat and charged into the home where he attacked the victim who sustained a broken nose and cuts to his face.

Ely is charged with aggravated assault and aggravated battery.
