Man accused of pushing woman, fighting with police
A 28-year-old Rome man was jailed Sunday on three counts of felony obstruction, three counts of misdemeanor obstruction, four counts of 3rd-degree cruelty to children, and a single count of simple battery following an incident at his residence on Shadowbrook Drive.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Ricardo Almeida Rivera pushed a woman in front of four small children.
He then resisted arrest, punching and grabbing officers by the neck to avoid arrest.
Man charged with burglary
A Summerville is accused of entering a storage unit on Walenda Drive in Armuchee twice.
According to an arrest warrant and Floyd County Jail records:
43-year-old Dusty Allen Blackmon cut the lock and removed items from the unit on May 9.
He then returned on May 10 and entered the storage unit a second time.
In both instances, Blackmon placed the items in a co-defendant’s SUV and left the area.
The value of the property was listed at $2,666.96.
Blackmon is charged with two counts of 2nd-degree burglary and theft by taking.
Police investigating burglary at Suhner USA
Rome Police are investigating a burglary at Suhner USA on Anderson Road back on July 5.
According to the incident report:
Video surveillance showed someone wearing loose-fitting blue jeans, a baggy black hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled over the head, clear plastic gloves, and a surgical mask, carrying a large case containing a Milwaukee magnetic drill valued at $1,297.
The subject, who was also wearing a headlamp, is also seen putting various food items valued at $1,752 in a garbage bag and then into a cart that was located inside the building for transport.
The report indicates the person knew the layout of the building and might be a former employee.
