The Georgia Supreme Court has upheld the murder conviction of a Polk County man.
Roe Dale Bowman was found guilty in 2020 of malice murder and other crimes in connection with the death of Tammy Wolfe.
Wolfe and Bowman had been involved in a romantic relationship.
On April 4, 2027, Wolfe’s body was found in her vehicle.
An autopsy later revealed that she had been shot and stabbed.
On the windshield were the letters “R” and “O”—the first two letters of Bowman’s first name, “Roe”—written in blood.
Bowman appealed his conviction, arguing that trial counsel was constitutionally ineffective on numerous grounds and that the trial court abused its discretion in admitting evidence of Bowman’s prior acts of violence involving his ex-wife.
The Georgia Supreme Court, in a unanimous opinion issued Tuesday, ruled against Bowman’s arguments for a new trial and affirmed the conviction.
