Report: Man threatens to burn down home

A Silver Creek man is facing charges after he allegedly threatened to burn down a woman’s home.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

39-year-old Billy Wayne Stone made the threat during a domestic dispute.

Stone is charged with terroristic threats and acts.

Man accused of stealing items from a truck

An East Rome man was recently arrested on charges of entering an automobile and theft by receiving stolen property.

According to an arrest warrant and Floyd County Jail records:

53-year-old Johnny Raymond Steel entered a 2018 Ram 3500 and took items such as fishing poles, hunting saddles, a Jet Ski cover, life jackets, and a chainsaw.

The incident occurred at a location on Cartersville Highway, according to the report.

Execution of a search warrant leads to the recovery of drugs

A Silver Creek man was recently arrested during the execution of a search warrant at his home on Abrams Road.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

44-year-old Eric Shawn Jordan was found with methamphetamine, less than an ounce of marijuana, THC gummies, digital scales, amphetamine pills, a hydrocodone pill, and Xanax pills.

The meth and marijuana were packaged for resale.

Jordon is charged with possession of meth, possession of meth with the intent to distribute, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of Schedule I, II, and IV controlled substances, possession of drugs not in the original container, and possession of drug-related objects.

Report: Man tried to discard synthetic marijuana during traffic stop

A 47-year-old Rome man has been arrested on charges of possession of synthetic marijuana, and tampering with evidence.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Stephen Douglas Arp was a passenger in a vehicle stopped by police on East 12th Street for a brake light violation.

A K9 indication led to a search of the vehicle and the discovery of synthetic marijuana.

Arp is also accused of trying to discard the substance.

Man charged with meth possession

A traffic stop for speeding ended with the arrest of a Rome man on drug charges.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

30-year-old Joseph Michael Cox was clocked at 80 miles per hour in a 65-mile-per-hour zone.

He was then found with a crystal-like substance which he admitted to being methamphetamine.

Cox is charged with possession of meth, speeding and driving with a suspended license.
