Man charged with aggravated assault

A Rome man was arrested over the weekend at his Wilson Avenue home on a felony aggravated assault charge.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

34-year-old Antarious Datrell Brown assaulted a woman by strangling her.

Brown is also being held without bond for a probation violation.

Woman charged with identity fraud

A Cartersville woman has been arrested on a felony warrant charging her with identity fraud.

According to the warrant:

46-year-old Pennee Jean Moore-Brown used the checking account and routing numbers of the Hospitality House for Women without permission for $132.74 at the Floyd County Water Department back on May 20.

Moore-Brown was arrested at the East Rome Walmart Saturday and is also charged with misdemeanor theft by shoplifting.

Man arrested for aggravated stalking, damage to property

A 43-year-old Rome man was arrested Sunday after he allegedly damaged the front door of a residence on Green and Gold Boulevard.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Roderick Maurice Chambers was not supposed to be near the property due to a restraining order.

He is charged with 2nd-degree criminal damage to property and aggravated stalking.

Report: Man found with cocaine at jail

A traffic stop for a turn lane violation on Shorter Avenue ended with the arrest of a West Rome man Sunday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

28-year-old Julio Cesar Jimenes Andres was found to be driving without insurance.

During an inventory of his vehicle, an open beer, marijuana, and THC oil were located.

Once at the jail, a bag of cocaine was located in a cell phone case.

Andres is charged with possession of cocaine, possession of drugs past the guard line at the jail, possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, open container, and driving with a suspended license.

Man arrested on drugs, weapons charges

A Rome man was arrested over the weekend on drugs and weapons charges at Highway 27 South and Darlington Drive.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

34-year-old Michael Allen Warren had two firearms, more than an ounce of marijuana, rolling papers, and a grinder.

He is charged with felony possession of marijuana, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and possession of drug-related objects.
