Man arrested for criminal attempt to commit child molestation
A man from McDonough is facing multiple charges after allegedly traveling to Floyd County to meet someone he thought was a minor for sex.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
45-year-old Steven Andrew Jenkins also engaged in a graphic sexual conversation with the person online, sent lewd pictures, and asked for pictures of the person in return.
Jenkins is charged with criminal attempt to commit aggravated child molestation, electronic enticement of a child, furnishing obscene materials to a minor, obscene internet contact with a child, and sexually explicit conduct with a minor.
At the time of his arrest, Jenkins was also charged with possession of methamphetamine, and a window tint violation.
Man charged with aggravated assault
A 28-year-old Rome man was arrested Monday after he reportedly grabbed a woman by the neck while wielding a hammer.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Brandon Michael Whitehead is charged with aggravated assault and battery in connection with the incident on Woodrow Wilson Way that left the victim with marks and bruises around her neck.
Warrant: Man abandoned dog
A Lindale man has been arrested on a felony warrant charging him with aggravated cruelty to animals.
According to the warrant:
23-year-old Steven Brian Eaves Jr. abandoned a German shepherd on Lake Ridge Circle on July 29.
He left the dog without food and water, causing it to suffer from severe malnourishment.
Two charged with possession of drugs at the jail
Two men arrested at West 11th Street and North Fifth Avenue Monday are facing additional charges after reportedly being found with drugs while at the Floyd County Jail.
According to jail records:
46-year-old Ashford Lamont Price of Summerville and 43-year-old Isaac Lamar Chaney of Rome are charged with possession of drugs past the guard line.
Price is additionally charged with obstruction of officers, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, giving a false name or date of birth, and a probation violation.
Chaney is additionally charged with possession of methamphetamine and a probation violation.
Report: Man found with meth at jail
A 27-year-old Rome man arrested Sunday at his Superba Avenue home for a probation violation is also charged with possession of drugs past the guard line at the jail.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Brian Lee Kyle is also charged with possession of methamphetamine.
