Man accused of pointing a rifle at a Rome Water Department employee
A 35-year-old Marietta man was booked into the Floyd County jail Wednesday on charges of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, entering an auto, theft by taking, criminal trespass, and criminal damage to property.
According to jail records:
Ruben, Daniel Hernandez-Huerta entered the property belonging to the Rome Water Department on Ausburn Road by crawling under a fence.
He was armed with a rifle and pointed it at a water department employee.
Hernandez-Huerta then entered the victim’s Nissan Altima and drove away in it, striking a gate.
The incident occurred back on June 20.
Woman accused of keying vehicle
A 30-year-old Rome woman has been arrested on a felony warrant charging her with second-degree criminal damage to property.
According to the warrant:
Christiana Lativia Wright used a key to cause more than $3,600 in damage to a 2019 Kia Optima in the parking lot of the West Rome Walmart back on August 26.
Warrant: Man made purchases at McDonalds using someone else’s financial transaction card
A Cedartown man is accused of using someone else’s financial transaction card to make unauthorized purchases.
According to an arrest warrant and Floyd County jail records:
21-year-old Deandre Lashaun Stephenson made five purchases at the East Rome McDonald’s totaling $43.96.
He is charged with financial transaction card theft and five counts of financial transaction card fraud.
Man charged with theft by receiving a stolen motor vehicle
A Cedartown man was jailed Wednesday for driving a truck that had been reported stolen.
According to Floyd County jail records:
58-year-old Ronnie Wayne Nails admitted to taking the 2022 Toyota Tacoma, valued at $6,000, from his nephew.
Nails is charged with theft by receiving stolen property.
Man arrested on drug charges
A Lindale man is facing a cocaine possession charge following his arrest on Rockmart Road in Silver Creek Wednesday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
31-year-old Jeremiah Dewayne Ashley was in possession of a white rock that he said was crack cocaine.
