Georgia State Troopers responded to a fatal traffic crash involving a motorcycle and a Ford Expedition on Boone Ford Road in Gordon County on Friday.

According to the GSP:

The investigation revealed that the motorcyclist, 39-year-old Michael Burchfield of Calhoun, was traveling on Boone Ford Road behind the Ford Expedition when it attempted to pass in a no-passing zone on a hillcrest.

The driver of the Ford Expedition was turning left into a private driveway and the motorcyclist struck the Expedition.

He was thrown from the motorcycle and came to a rest in the ditch on Boone Ford Road, passing away on the scene.

There are no charges at this time.
