Report: Convicted felon pulled gun on another man

A 20-year-old homeless man is accused of pulling a gun on another man on September 11 at a location on Dean Avenue at Old School Road.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Nicholas Brandon Worthy was not even supposed to have a firearm because he is a convicted felon.

He was also in possession of a firearm on September 7, according to an arrest warrant.

He is charged with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Meanwhile, 20-year-old Jeremiah Eugene Golden of Rome is accused of giving the firearm to Worthy.

He is charged with transferring a firearm to an individual other than the actual buyer or convicted felon.

Golden is also charged with stalking.

The arrest warrant states that he placed a woman under video surveillance and followed her for over a mile.

Man accused of hitting police officer

A Dallas, Georgia man was booked into the Floyd County Jail Wednesday on charges of simple battery against a law enforcement officer and felony obstruction.

According to jail records:

53-year-old George Christopher Phillips took a swing at a police officer, hitting him on the side of the head.

The incident occurred at a location on Blacks Bluff Road.

Man charged with cocaine trafficking

A Rome man is facing felony drug charges following his arrest Wednesday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

55-year-old Bobby Renorris Watkins was found with cocaine during a traffic stop on Crescent Avenue at Cave Spring Street.

Officers then located cocaine in his hotel room on Highway 411 and his storage unit on Flannery Street.

Watkins is charged with trafficking, possession, and possession with the intent to distribute cocaine.

Man charged with forgery, exploitation of the elderly

An Atlanta man was arrested Wednesday after he presented a fraudulent check at a Rome bank.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

34-year-old Joshua Favors forged the check $7,300.75 on the account of an 83-year-old Blairsville woman.

He is charged with 3rd-degree forgery and exploitation of the elderly.

Man arrested loitering, public indecency

A Lindale man is accused of exposing himself to a police officer.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

35-year-old Tony Eugene Blasengame Jr. was on the campus of Pepperell High School Wednesday morning, acting as if he was going to enter the school and vehicles in the parking lot.

When confronted by the officer, he reportedly made an inappropriate comment and then exposed himself.

Blasengame is charged with criminal attempt to commit a misdemeanor, loitering or prowling, and public indecency.
