Man accused of threatening judge

A North Rome man arrested earlier this week for reportedly calling 911 a total of 39 times is now accused of threatening a Floyd County Magistrate judge.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

60-year-old Steve Lorenzo Miller threatened to kill the judge while exiting the courtroom after making a first appearance.

Later, while entering his cell at the jail, Miller threatened to have someone kill the judge.

Miller is charged with two counts of intimidation of a court officer.

Man arrested on drugs and weapons charges in West Rome

A Rockmart man is facing multiple charges following his arrest at an apartment on Mississippi Drive in West Rome Tuesday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

24-year-old Rolando Manuel Alonso had several THC vape pens, a vacuum sealer, plastic packaging materials, and digital scales.

Alonso, who is a convicted felon, also threw a shotgun into the attic in an effort to conceal it and flushed marijuana down the toilet as officers were executing a search warrant.

He is charged with possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, possession with the intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of drug-related objects, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and two counts of tampering with evidence.

The address on Mississippi Drive was the same one that officers had responded to on Monday evening regarding shots being fired in the area.
