Friday morning the Hospitality House for Women hosted the 17th annual “Walk a Mile in Her Shoes” event in downtown Rome’s Rotary Plaza.
A crowd gathered to cheer on a sponsored Men’s high heel fundraising competition to support and advocate for domestic violence victims in Northwest Georgia.
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month; According to the Hospitality House for Women, intimate partner violence impacts 1 in 3 women in the US, and 3 out of 4 Americans know a survivor of domestic violence.
The event ended with a short march on Broadstreet, in which the grand marshal was the winner of the fundraiser competition.
