AdventHealth Redmond recently donated four automated external defibrillators to Floyd County Emergency Management.
Dondra Crawford, Community Outreach Manager for AdventHealth Redmond presented the AEDs to EMA Director Tim Herrington during a recent county commission meeting.
“AdventHealth is honored and proud to be a part of this community,” Crawford said. “We will continue to build and grow our relationships with the community.”
AEDs assist people who encounter sudden cardiac arrest.
Once the device evaluates the heart’s rhythm, it provides an electrical shock which helps to reset a heart’s rhythm back to normal.
“We really needed these in our facilities,” Herrington said. “We still have a few that do not have any. This is going to make sure that we’re able to continue that the community, when they come into these facilities, is safe. We have to be prepared for anything.”
