A couple of proposed alcohol ordinance amendments will be back before the Rome Alcohol Control Commission on Monday.

The Rome City Commission voted last week to have the ACC take another look at a change that would eliminate future variances for the food-to-drink ratio. Unless a variance is granted, any establishment that sells distilled spirits must make half of its revenue from the sale of food.

The other amendment would no longer permit food truck sales to count toward the ratio.

Also on the ACC agenda is the designation of a Sunday pouring day for 2025.

State law allows local governments to designate one Sunday per calendar year in which establishments that are not otherwise qualified to pour on Sunday, are allowed to pour alcohol.

Super Bowl Sunday on February 9 appears to be the preferred day.

The ACC will also consider a new beer, wine, and liquor package license request at Square Spirits and Extra Mile, both at 672 Braves Boulevard, as well as a beer and wine package license at EZ Stop at 2121 Shorter Avenue and a wine wholesale license at Wholesale Beverage at 18 Old Airport Road.

Monday’s alcohol control commission meeting begins at 5 p.m. at Rome City Hall.
