While most of Georgia escaped Saturday’s tornado outbreak, the National Weather Service has confirmed an EF-1 tornado touched down in Paulding County late Saturday evening with maximum winds up to 110 mph.
The tornado touched down west of Sudie around 11:41 PM and continued northeast for over 11 miles through areas of Dallas and New Hope before lifting around 11:53 PM.
The worst damage was in the Windale Road area near Highway 278 and GA 61.
Despite the damage, there were no serious injuries reported, according to the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office.
