FLOYD COUNTY JAIL RECORDS

A 33-year old Rome man was jailed early Monday on a felony warrant charging him with 1st-degree cruelty to children.

According to the warrant, Micah Andrew Quarles of a Fields Ferry Road address punched a minor under the age of 18 in the stomach, causing the victim to have stomach pain for 2 or 3 days.

Quarles also allegedly pushed the victim’s face onto the center console of a truck, causing a loose tooth.

He also put his hands around the victim’s neck in a choking manner, according to the warrant.

The incidents occurred between May 6 and July 6 of this year.

Quarles, who turned himself in, is also charged with contempt of superior court.
