[VIDEO] Floyd Medical Center administers COVID-19 vaccine to employees

On Friday morning, Floyd Medical Center started to administer the first round of their recently received Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines to their medical staff.

 The first shipments of the vaccine began arriving in Georgia earlier this week after the US Food and Drug Administration granted Emergency Use Authorization for it.

Because this initial COVID-19 vaccine supply is limited, The Georgia Department of Public Health is following the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices and prioritizing healthcare personnel and residents of long-term care facilities for vaccination.
