(Via WBHF Radio) Georgia State Patrol troopers arrested 59-year-old Wanda Faye Cox of Adairsville regarding a fatal accident on Adairsville Pleasant Valley Road on March 12th.
She allegedly drove a 2007 Ford Explorer eastbound when she attempted to negotiate a curve to the right about 1,000 feet west of Mostellers Mill Road. She reportedly failed to maintain her lane.
The Explorer traveled onto the left shoulder, striking a fire hydrant and sideswiping a tree. The impact caused the Explorer to overturn and come to a final uncontrolled rest in the left shoulder against a tree.
GSP determined the area of impact by yaw marks, furrow marks, gouge marks, and contact damage to the vehicle.
51-year-old Ricky Lee Craig died at the scene. He was reportedly sitting in the rear left seat without a seatbelt and ejected.
GSP took Cox to Cartersville Medical Center for treatment with a possible injury or complaint. They booked her into the jail afterward for homicide by vehicle in the first degree, driving under the influence of drugs, and failure to maintain lane.
A third passenger did not receive any injuries
