The Floyd County Commission will consider the purchase of nine new vehicles for the police and sheriff’s office when they meet Tuesday.
The total price including the upfitting for all nine interceptor vehicles and cameras for the three of them is just over $422,000.
Six vehicles will be for the Sheriff’s Office and three for the Police Department.
Commissioners are also expected to approve the creation of one patrol officer position in the Floyd County Police Department to manage parking and the purchase of landing equipment and related items for Richard B. Russell Regional Airport in the amount of $458,958.
This is budgeted in the 2013 SPLOST.
The commission meeting will be held at the County Administration Building located at 12 East 4th Avenue, Rome, Georgia.
The caucus will begin at 4:00 pm with the regular meeting to follow at 6.
The meetings are open to the public.
Everyone in attendance is asked to follow the latest guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Meanwhile, the Rome City School Board is expected to adopt the proposed Fiscal Year 22 Budget when they meet Tuesday.
A public hearing will be held prior to the adoption.
Also on the agenda is the second reading of policies regarding public participation in board meetings, staff conflict of interest and teacher evaluation appeals.
Under new business, the board will discuss the purchase of a van for the school nutrition program.
The caucus will be held at 4:00 p.m. in Room A211 at Rome City Schools College and Career Academy on Veterans Memorial Highway.
The regular meeting will start at 5:45 p.m. in Room A201.
