Rome sees a second arson in less than a month

A reward is being offered for information regarding a fire that was intentionally set a fire at an apartment building on Southern Street in North Rome this week.

The Rome News-Tribune reports that police who arrived on the scene could smell gasoline and there was a section of grass with burn marks consistent with the use of a fire accelerant.

Two of the apartments in the four-building unit were damaged.

This is the second arson in Rome this month.

Authorities are still seeking information regarding a fire that was intentionally set at 1200 Martha Berry Boulevard on June 3 that damaged a convenience store and a tax business downstairs.
