Movies at Berry Square sold

A Georgia-based theater chain has purchased the Movies at Berry Square.

The Rome News-Tribune reports that Georgia Theater Company paid $1.3 million for the property off of Martha Berry Highway.

According to the company’s Facebook page, Georgia Theater Company is a 4th-generation family-owned business specializing in movie theater exhibitions.

Headquartered on St. Simons Island,  they are one of the 20th largest theater circuits in the United States.

GTC Movies operates 252 auditoriums at 24 locations in Georgia, South Carolina, Florida, and Virginia.
