Two women charged with aggravated assault in separate, but similar incidents

A 32-year-old Rome man was jailed on charges of aggravated assault and criminal damage to property following an incident on Venetian Way Sunday.

According to Floyd County Jail records, Brianna Renae Watkins got into a verbal altercation with the victim in the driveway of the residence.

She then attempted to drive away while the victim was partially inside the vehicle.

The victim escaped, only to have Watkins back up and strike him with the vehicle.

The victim was knocked to the ground, causing abrasions and scratches to his legs.

Watkins also struck a wooden fence and a mailbox with her vehicle.

Meanwhile, a 30-year-old Rome woman is accused of using her vehicle as a weapon on Avenue D Sunday.

According to Floyd County Jail records, Vanjillia Denise Allen struck the victim with the 2008 Nissan Pathfinder during a verbal argument.

Allen and the victim had lived together for several years, according to the report.

Allen was charged with aggravated assault.
